Encounter Overview

Blagh & Rung represent the first boss encounter within Dar Narbugud. The encounter is not particularily difficult, however a basic understanding of threat is required to master the encounter.

Equipment & Consumables

The damage during the encounter is almost entirely acid based it is therefor recommended to use at least 3 pieces of the 'tier 1' radiance gear rather than full sets of Dar Narbugud (Tier 2) gear.

The gloom inside Dar Narbugud during boss encounters is 160. With 50 cancelled out from using hope pots you will need to be wearing at least 70 radiance not to suffer cowering. Cowering in this fight is deadly since movement is often required to avoid the troll's acid puddles.

During the encounter everyone in the raid is likely to large portions of damage especially during the later stages. The encounter also turns into a DPS race so it is advisable to use both Scrolls of Improved Warding Lore and Scrolls of Improved Battle Lore

Phases Overview

Each troll has three seperate phases:

  • Phase 1 will last from the moment the fight begins until the opposite troll reaches 120k
  • Phase 2 will last from the moment the opposite troll reaches 120k until the opposite troll is dead
  • Phase 3 will last from the moment the opposite troll is dead until the current troll is dead

The trolls are linked similar to those in The Forgotten Treasury. 100% of damage done to one troll will transfer to the opposite troll. Threat in it's pure component does not transfer, however it is important to remember that damage has a threat component.

During all phases any troll that is alive can use a special attack which causes acid puddles to form on the floor underneath players. These pools over the course of the fight can be predicted.

If the trolls are brought together they will begin attacking random players with a 'stunning punch'. This attack will inflict heavy damage while knocking back and stunning a player within the raid. During the later phases this attack can kill instantly.

Phase 1 Information

Each troll is a basic troll inflicting light damage to anyone infront of it.

Phase 2 Information

Corruptions will begin to build up on the troll increasing it's damage by 20%. These corruptions will be added to the troll approximately every 15 seconds.

Enraged Revenge

Phase 3 Information

When the opposite troll has been defeated the remaining troll will spawn a mushroom. The mushroom has an associated killing field which inflicts 954 acid damage every 2 seconds. A new mushroom will be spawned if the troll is taken outside of the killing field.
